Let's start with Livejournal and their new release. Now don't get me wrong, there are things I like about this change! However, a few good changes (that are implemented fairly poorly) don't outweigh the plenty of bad changes that have been made.

Subject lines aren't frivolous trappings. They're at the heart of a lot of things in how LJ is used by a lot of people. Comment pages that are so clunky that some people can't even load pages to say anything!

The shortcut keys are nice. I like ctrl left and ctrl right to go through pages! It's handy! I like the icon browsing too, but it should be optional. Loading 100+ full sized icon is a killer for people with slower connections or older computers. Sure mine can handle it, but there are those that can't.

And to top it all off? Those stupid brothers of mine at all the frosted animal cookies that mum bought for me special, because we'd been talking about them the other day. :( Their excuse was the bag was "already half empty", but even little kids know those bags are always half full of air when you buy them!

Combine this with the fact that I could be stuck with this dying piece of junk laptop for several more months and I just want to break down and cry. I hate crying, but between my hormones and everything else it's so hard not to right now. :(

Sorry bb, but it's just going to get worse. They're getting rid of the comment section on icons soon and all that'll be left are keywords... and that's just the tip of the iceburg.

For all intents I'm moving to DW, I'll be cross-posting here and commenting on people who haven't moved and doing stuff like that, but as a whole I'm done with LJ I think. They're taking it in a direction that doesn't mach the way I want to use it so.... I'll go somewhere that's let's me use it the way I want.

Also we got a new wii. >_> Can I bug you about borrowing games sometime in the future? And we never did decide on a movie

I'm making the move to dreamwidth, too. Sucks though because my paid account doesn't expire until the end of august of next year.

oh, yes! I'll send you a list of the games that I have that you can borrow in a message sometime.
And there is a 3d movie coming out.. you like beauty and the beast, right? Lol. I want to go see it. :)

Yeah. I've got another month of so of paid left and even that hurts to leave behind. ALL MY ICONS LAURA WHAT AM I GONNA DOOOO?! Besides deal, because I don't use my personal journal enough as it is I guess. :(

Speaking of icons, the big thing that has me sulking about DW is the lack of icon related things. I've been iconing more lately and there seem to be no active icontests or 20in20s or anything of that sort. It's most vexing.

Not to mention the "Oh no, i have the chance to re-name my icon community what do I do?", because making decisions is hard.

Oooh that's right. They're doing beauty and the best this spring aren't they? That might actually be a good idea. I still kind of regret not getting to say The Lion King in 3d.

I know. I leave with a heavy heart. I don't think I could ever completely cut myself off from this place as I don't want to leave the friends I have here behind.. just.. going to stop posting and am removing all my personal information here.

DW is still young! Give it time.

They're planning on doing a layout overhaul, I think :( so it's really only a matter of time, unless they cave. I hope you have a DW backup?
